I have been creating mosaics since 1997 and over the years I have tried many materials and ways of making mosaics such as two dimensional and then three dimensional such as small sculptures and even some water features. I am driven more by the context of the site than any particular material although I am partial to stone and smalti and other types of glass. I like to work primarily with those materials with an occasional sprinkling of other things. It’s kind of like adding a dash of salt to make your food taste better. The truth is that I have a commitment problem: There are so many amazing materials that just to use one thing would be too limiting to me but I always admire those who are able to keep things simple for themselves.
Much of the work that I do tends to be design and fabrication larger scale commissions for kitchens, baths and exterior landscape additions. This is more about design than fine art for the sake of pure creativity. In order to be able to create something with no deadline and no particular set of objectives other than personal inspiration I create these fine art pieces. If you are interested in any of these pieces please contact me for more information and prices.
